繊維の可能性を探る

羊毛は繊維の中でも優れた機能を持ち合わせた繊維である。今日では、羊毛の利用方法は主に衣類そして日用品、建築資材などに使われている。そして、日本の羊毛に対する意識は、身近にある便利なモノたちに隠れてしまっていると感じた。そんな羊毛の利用方法や価値に焦点を当て、ウールの未来について考える。

Wool is one of the fibers that has a great deal of functionality. Nowadays, wool is mainly used for clothing, daily necessities and building materials. And I felt that Japanese awareness of wool was hidden by the convenient things we have around us. Focusing on the use and value of such wool, we look at the future of wool.
自然素材の美しさ

羊毛が持つ、しなやかで美しい繊維の力強さに魅力を感じた。そこで羊毛を利用した新しいマテリアルを提案する。
写真上２枚は素材を利用したバスケットを製作。
a.輪を連なるように編むことで、大きなひものように扱うことができ強度と長さを作ることができる。 b.毛糸の縫い目の幅を変えることで紐同士の間に動きを作ることができる。 c.切り込みを複数入れることで、形にアソビができる。広い面に持たれるように体を添わせてみたり、生地のように利用して見ることができる。 d.ニットのように編むことで紐同士に空間ができ軽い印象と広い面積を作ることができる。
Beauty of nature material

I was fascinated by the strength of the supple, beautiful fibers that wool possesses. Therefore, we propose a new material using wool.
The two photos above are baskets made from the materials I made.
a.Strength and length can be created by knitting in a series of rings. b. You can create movement between the strings by changing the width of the yarn seams. c. Multiple incisions will give the shape more personality. You can try to put your body together so that it can be held on a wide surface, or you can use it like a fabric and see it. d.Knitting like a knit creates a space between the strings, creating a light impression and a large area.
